Things to Consider in Choosing a Potential Roommate

There are many things to consider if you are looking for a roommate. You cannot just get the first person who inquires with your spare room. A wrong roommate could make your life uncomfortable. Here are the things that you need to consider in choosing a roommate:   Assess Yourself   Before meeting with the people who inquires with your room rent, make sure to know what type of roommate you want. Assess yourself on what you are looking for in a roommate. Do you have any requirement when he/she rent it? Are you particular with the gender of the person whom you will share your room? Assess the applicants   Once you already know what you are looking for in a roommate, the next step will be assessing the applicants. Ask for their resume' or create a form that will include all the things that you want to know about them. Ask to fill up the form for all the applicants who want to be your roommate.   Questions like their personal information like their permanent address, their family backgrounds, and if they have criminal records should be included in the form that they will need to fill up. Set an Interview or Meet Up   Make some appointments to the possible applicants who can be your roommate basing from your personal assessment. Meet in general place like coffee shop.   Important Questions   List down all the important questions that you want to ask like if they are okay with doing the room chores with you or if you are hiring someone to clean your room, ask them if they are willing to split the cost with you.   Ask them if they are fond of inviting his over his place and if he likes to party every night.   Ask his schedule and check if it coincides with yours or it might affect you in any way.   These are some of the things that you can do in order to assess a person if he could be your roommate.
